Brief CV 

Despina Kompoti studied Social Work in Athens and at postgraduate level at the University of Bradford: “MA in Social and Community Work Studies”. She holds a PhD from Panteion University, Department of Social Policy.

As a social worker, she worked at the Piraeus TZANEIO General Hospital (2003 – 2009), at the MITERA Infants Center    (1995 – 2003) and at the Project Bureau, WELCOME HUSITA – Bogman Management Consultant, Maastricht, Netherlands (COMMET grant for new graduates).

She participates in the committee of the Education and Lifelong Learning Program entitled “Practical Exercise of the Department of Social Work” of the Ministry of Education. She is a member of the Gender Equality Committee (G.E.C.) of the University of Western Attica.

She has published articles on immigration and integration into society, single-parent families, vulnerable groups of social exclusion, housing problems faced by women in Great Britain. He participated in research on the psychosocial needs of the Roma of Western Attica and good practices for supporting and promoting their social integration. She was the Scientific Research Manager on the topic <Recording the needs of young people aged 15-24> for the European program entitled Youth Guarantee- Tree steps to find a job VS/2016/0105 for the Municipality of Εgaleo. Her research interests concern the policies and mechanisms of social protection at the local level, the development and implementation of social policy programs, as well as the methodology of community interventions.

Her scientific and research work has been announced at European and Greek conferences and seminars.
