Brief CV 

Theologos Chatzipemou studied Social Work and Pedagogics. He has two degrees at a Masters Level (MSc, MA) in Social Psychiatry-Child Psychiatry and in Special Education. He completed his PhD at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Futhermore, he completed his training in “the foundations of psychoanalytic psychotherapy” at the Institute of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Society of Social Psychiatry and Mental Health. He also trained “in group dynamics” at the Therapy Centre for Addicted Persons (KETHEA) as well as at the Society for the Psychosocial Health of the Child and Adolescent. He is certified by the National Centre of Public Administration and Local Government on matters of scientific and psycho-pedagogical guidance of teachers.

He has previously worked in public (state) education and later in the Children’s Psychiatric Clinic of the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital in Athens. He has worked as scientific staff at the SOS Children’s Villages in Vari, Attika. He also worked at the Child and Family Support Centre of the SOS Children’s Villages, Greece. He has also worked at the Institute of Child and Adolescent Mental Health of the Society of Social Psychiatry and Mental Health. He was a member of the Society for the Psychosocial Health of the Child and Adolescent as well as a scientific associate.

He has taught in a number of undergraduate and postgraduate university courses.

He is the author of the book “Understanding children’s problems” published by the SOS Children’s Villages, Greece. He has authored published articles and research studies in scientific journals and has contributed chapters in books. He has taken part in European research and educational programmes as well as in scientific conferences and seminars.
